Bess, I'm a cousin of Tammy Connors and thought I should put my two cents in. Tammy received a DeShazo booklet recently, written by Thomas E. de Shazo, Maj. Gen. US Army Ret. It was first published in 1964. The cousin who sent it to Tammy advised that it contained many errors. Perhaps you can advise whether the following is an error. In the booklet, it states that Jean de Chazeaux, born abt. 1670, and his wife arrived at Yorktown around 1695. He had 3 sons. The oldest, Robert, was married to Elizabeth Nichols on August 13, 1716. He had a son Richard, who had 4 sons. These were William, who married Jane Gincy King in 1794; Robert Bohannon; Edmond Barnett; and Clembernett.

Jean's other two sons were Jacques and Richard. Little was known of Jacques. Richard was the father of Peter, b. abt 1730. Peter had 3 sons, Louis, Robert and Richard. Louis married Nancy King, a cousin of Jane Gincy King. Robert married Mary Sawyer. The booklet focuses on the Louis DeShazo line primarily.

Bess, your posting indicates that our Robert and your William were brothers, while this booklet says that they were cousins. Could you tell us what documentation do you have for your information? Thanks
