Goodspeed’s History of Southern Arkansas identifies “Thomas and Elizabeth (Turveville) Wadley, natives of Virginia, and of English and French parentage, respectively”, as the parents of twelve children. The family is found in 1850 in Hickman County, TN, in 1860 in Carroll (now Boone) County, AR. An elusive family tale suggests an earlier marriage for Thomas, to a Bonnie DeShazo, born in New Orleans, LA, died in TN, the mother of some of Thomas’ children. True or false? Thanks.
