There seems to be two different men named Peter DeShazo
and possibly two named Robert DeShazo. More research
needs to be done. Gen. Tom DeShazo had reported that a
Robert DeShazo who was born in King & Queen county,
Virginia ca. 1758 married Mary Sawyer from Edgefield,S.C..
This Robert had a grandson named Robert Sawyer who was
a colonel of the C.S.A.. This seems to indicate a second
alliance of the DeShazo and Sawyer families. Supposedly
a biography titled "BOB DE SHAZO" is in the possession
of the Georgia Tech library.
I have a working hypothesis that Desaussure and De Shazo
are two different names. I am working to discover if the
variant De Shazer derives from Desaussure rather than
De Shazo.
