I have been working on the Revelle family of Missouri, which intermarries quite interestingly with the DeSha Family. The DeSha's of Missouri are of undetermined DeSha ancestry according to DeWitt Nogues comprehensive work on the DeSha family, however, he indicates that the DeSha's of Missouri descend also from a certain Sarah Revelle. Well, these folks settled in Madison County, Missouri, where there was another (Possibly unrelated) group of Revelle's and proceded to intermarry with them as well. Then, by about 1880, the DeSha name had died out in Missouri as all of the male bearers of the surname had apparently moved back east to Kentucky.
I have primarily confirmed DeWitt's research and expanded upon it greatly as far as the Missouri descendancy goes, especially as to the intermarriages with the Revelle family which even date to as recently as 1949, but which seem to start in about 1834 in Missouri.
