Dear Brenda,
My maternal grandfather's mother was named Pearl Deschampes from Fort Smith,AR. She married a Mr. Wooten. My grandfather was Clyde Logan Wooten, an only child. As I understand it, Pearl had a sister, Ruth, who married Harry Hall, who lived in Memphis,TN and owned a chain of liquor stores in Memphis. I don't think that the Deschamp-Deschamps-Deschampes name is all that common in Ft. Smith. Does this info ring any bell with you? Thanks-Chuck Hooper
