Hi!
Toussaint and Marie's son Pierre is also my family tree branch. From there I go to another Pierre b.12/1688 in Pte.Aux Trembles Isle Montreal, Canada. d.5/18/1769. m.Marquerite Lefebvre dit Lacsiceraye on 3/17/1711. Their son Basil Amable Hunault dit Deschamps b.8/1731 m.Angelique Fortier on 11/15/1751. Their son Basil Amable Deschamps b. 1754 in St. Anne de Bellevue. m. to Apolline Celeste Asselin. And my tree continues to their son Phillipe Deschamps b. 9/20/1806 in Montreal, Canada. d.7/21/1834 in St. Anicet, Quebec, Canada. m.Marquerite Dubreuil. Now my ggrandfather Joseph Deschamps changed his name to Dishaw when he entered the U.S.A. He married Catherine Barnhart (2nd wife, 1st left in Canada). They had 14 children. My gfather was Uriahlb.11/09/1869 in Maple Grove Twp. Saginaw County, Michigan. Are you any of these branches???Toussaint's father was Nicholas Hunault-Deschamps, mother Marie Benoit from St. Pierre-es-Champs, Beauvois, I'le de France. He probably was a tenant farmer hence the name "des" meaning from or part of and "champs" meaning from the fields.
Fran LaChance has a lot of information on the Deschamps in Canada. Hope this is interesting to you and can help. Jerry
