My nephew's wife is descended from "George Ivy Miller of Florine, LA and his wife Pearl Derryberry of Arkansas." She has asked that I help her with the Omohondro genealogy. I've read the bits of your book regarding Pitser Miller Derryberry and his family and want to discuss some of my findings with you. 1900 census Alcorn Co., MS - Pitser M. Derryberry b. Feb 1839, & wife Sarah A. b. Aug 1849.......was this a different Pitser? 1900 census Hempstead Co., AR - Martin Derryberry b.Jul 1870, living with him is his "sister" Pearl Derryberry b. May 1888 age 12. This has to be Shannon's Pearl, but if her parents were still living why wasn't she living with them. AND, where were they??? 1880 census Alcorn Co., MS Pitser M. Derryberry 45 (1835) TN TN Tn Martha J. 35 (1845) MS NC NC * Jessie A. son 16 TN TN TN Hannah E. dau 14 TN TN TN Sampson A son 12 TN TN TN Martin V. W. 10 (1870) TN TN MS William M. & George W. 8 MS TN MS Franklin M. 6 MS TN MS Lenorah V. MS TN MS Per this census Martha is about 10 years younger than most people say. It would make her about 43 when Pearl was born, and it appears Martin and the following children might be hers. I can't find my notes but I found an L. M. Derryberry and wife Mary in the 1860 census just a few doors from John T. Derryberry. I suspect that might have been Pitser, but I can't understand the L. As I recall, there were no children with them. So far, that 1880 census is the only one where I've found Martha J. Omohomdro.
