Thank you so much for the details on your web site! Things like this always help put flesh on the bare bones of a name. Supposedly there is a journal in the Grand Island archives prepared some time shortly after the war with many details about the Island men who served, which I hope to get a look at in the next few months (requires a 2 hour drive west for me, which isn't too much fun this time of year!). Perhaps there will be more in there, or in town records, about Philip and his family. Let me know if you stumble on anything else, and thanks again!
