I'm replying to a very old message you posted...
I'm descended from the Griggs family in Quebec, and I've found several references to the Derick Family. Below is a section of Griggs lineage I'm currently working on and I'm hoping you might have some information on the Dericks listed. Thank-you.
This Griggs lineage is from the records of Reverend Micajah Townsend, Clarenceville, Quebec. I've worked out a family-tree based on the relationships recorded.
Most of the family was from Foucault/Noyan area with the occassional reference to Alburgh, Vermont.
3 brothers; William, John, and Simon Griggs.
Simon died in 1846 and was married to Letitia Brevoort (or Brovoort?). They had the following children:
1) John (m. Abigail Derick)
2) Alexander (m. Melinda Derick)
3) Henry B. (middle name is very likely Brevoort/Brovoort) (m. Nancy Dewar)
4) (not confirmed) Nancy (m. Truman Barber, then Jared Griggs, her cousin)
5) (not confirmed) Sarah (m. Frederick Derick)

1) Letitia
2) Alma Anne (b. 1826)
3) Simon (b. 1829)(m. Sarah Bissell)
4) Mary Elizabeth (b. 1831)(m. William J. Jameson)

1) Henry Mott (m. Mary Pamela Derick)
2) Anne Elizabeth (1834-1840)
3) Charlotte Eliza (b. 1836)
Henry B. Griggs & Nancy Dewar's children:
1) Daniel Dewar (b. 1815)(m. Sylvia Sophia ______)
2) Anna (b. 1817)
3) Letitia (b. 1819)
4) Catharine Eliza (b. 1821)
5) Duncan Dewar (b. 1825)
