All of the information that I have about James Absolem Larance Derrick is from Ruth Warren. I have a typed booklet that she gave me many years ago when she visited me. I have not heard from her in years and so I would guess that she is not living. Have no idea how old she would be now but I would think quite elderly.

This booklet states that James Michael Bloom Derrick, after reaching Missouri, ran into old neighboring family by the name of Kimbrough. The Kimbrough Family lived in Polk County adjoining McMinn County back in Tennesee. James renewed his friendship with Mary Virginia Kimbrough and they were married on April 10, 1883. He had another family by this marriage and if I have this right one of his daughers was Mary Ruth Derrick. (Mary Ruth Derrick Warren).

My grandfather, Joseph Henry Derrick, was the youngest brother of James Michael Bloom Derrick. I do have a great deal of information about that branch of the family.

Hope this helps you.
Wanda
