I am also a descendant of Simon Derrick. Simon came from Germany to Philidelpha PA then on to Berks Co. PA. He was living in Shenandoah Co. VA when he wrote his will, and he died there in 1787.

His son John was of Shenandoah Co. he had married Mary DUNKELBERGER about 1762 and they had a son Jonathan born 1776 in Shenandoah Co.VA who married Mary HAYNES in Botetourt Co. VA. Jonathan was the only Derrick to come to WV, Kanawha County, near Charleston, about 1811.

He was my 2nd Great Grandfather, his son Michael, my Great Grandfather,his son Elmore Marion Derrick my Grandfather, and Joe W. Derrick my father.
