I'm a descendant of Sarah M. Derrick, daughter of Caswell B. Derrick, born in 1844. She married Ginette Anderson Morring in 1877. I have pictures of each of them likely made in the 1880's before G.A. Morring died in 1889. He was a Free Will Baptist Preacher or 'circuit riding' preacher serving Madison, Jackson, and Marshall counties in North Alabama. Sarah was his third wife and his previous wives likely died in child-labor. He had many children by both previous wives. Sarah had only two children: Robert Caswell Morring b. 1881 and Mary Pearl Morring b.1883 (my great-grandmother).
It's exciting to see I have a whole lot of Derrick cousins on this site. Any of you out there descended from Caswell B. Derrick give me a 'shout'. I'm interested to know if anyone knows what the 'B' stands for as Caswell's middle name and the 'M' as Sarah's middle name.
