WILL OF CATHARINE (STAPELTON) DERRICK
I Catharine Dirk living with Tobias Stabelton in his dwelling in Albany Township in Berks County in Pennsylvania do know, that man is mortal and taken from the earth and must again return to the earth, I therefore order my Soul into the hands of God and my body to the earth and divide my remaining moveable goods among my remaining heirs.
First: I order that all my just debts and funeral expences shall be paid out of my remaining moveable goods by my excutor, who will be named hereafter.
Secondly, I order that my son Michael Dirk shall inherit as his property ten pounds hard money out of my remaining estate forever.
Thirdly, I order that my daughter Maria Elizabeth and my daughter Anna Maria shall inherit my chest and all my clothing for their herditary portion. N.B. But if the daughters of my son Michael Dirk are willing to inherit the third part of my remaining clothes, they then have together a third part, but if they take no part of my remaining clothes, my two daughters aforsaid shall then inherit alone
without any costs.
4th I give unto my grand daughter Anna Maria Stabelton three pounds hard money of Pennsylvania Currencey as her property for ever.
5th I give unto my daughter Maria Elizabeth all the cash forever which shall remain after all Costs are paid, as her property.
6th I have elected John Adam Creutz as my Executor and manager of my Estate, In conclusion, that every thing above mentioned may be strictly truly kept I hereunto affix my hand and Seal this Nineteenth day of May One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Six.
