Actually Samuel moves from Claiborne Co, MS to Catahoula Parish, LA in 1835 and presumably dies there. Preston's family, and James' family remain in KY, IF they are indeed Samuel's sons. No sons, grandsons named Samuel. If he deserted them, that would make sense. James born c 1799, Preston c 1809 Montgomery Co, KY (by a birth record of one of his 2nd set of children). A Maria Duratt married Reuben Wilson in Bath Co, KY 14 Dec 1847. Could this be Preston's sister?
