Samuel DeRossett according to his pension application made in 1827 Claiborne Co, MS stated he was b in 1763. In 1788 a Samuel married a Mary "Polly" Solomon in Campbell Co, VA. He had received a land grant for acreage in KY. The 1810 Montgomery Co census shows Mary Durossett as h/h with 2 sons (one under 10) and 3 daughters. She is believed to be the mother of Solomon and James DeRossett of Floyd Co and perhaps Preston (b 1809) of Bath Co.
Questions: Is the Samuel of the pension the same as the Samuel who married Polly in 1788? Is Polly the same as Mary of the 1810 census? If so, where is Samuel? He moves on, she apparently doesn't. Are there records of the sons with their father, or only in the Montgomery/Bath/Floyd area of KY?
