The DeRouchie family tree is quite complicated. You can search the canadian census, and find that when they came to the united states, most did not read or write, and census taking in the new york area, where they all spoke french, was dificult. Most names were spelled they way they sounded to the census taker. Use surname searches, and look up DeRouchie, as well as De Rouchie.( the space apparently makes a difference.) Also, search Durouchie, Derushie, Deruchie, Durocher, Desrosier, Desrosiers, etc.I am new to Genealogy.com, but am familiar with Ancestry.com. You can find some family trees showing different spellings. Good look. And please let me know what you do find out.

Sincerely,
Sandi DeRouchie Enos Calder
