Dear Charlie,

Here are a list of some Doerflinger's (Derflinger's). I found them in several books. I beleive you can get access to them also at the research area of a good library.

"30,000 Names Of Immigrants In Pennsylvania 1727-1776".

Also,"Pennsylvania German Pioneer Vol.1 by strassburger & Hinke and Emigrants from Baden & Wurttemberg Vol.1 by Brigitte Burkett.

Friederich Dorflinger- Came to America September 19, 1749 on the ship Patience.
He lived in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Johannes Dorflinger- Came to America October 3, 1753 on the ship Eastern Branch. He lived in Philadelphia and died around 1764.

The family of Johannes Dorflinger came to America May 18, 1742 on the ship Lydia. Johannes died at sea. The family settled first in Broad bay, Maine, 1742 and then (wife and a daughter) went on to Friedland in North Carolina. What happened to all 7 children is not recorded.

Additionally, I have seen in old German records a Dorflinger man who went to the U.S. in the early 1600's. I have not been able to get more information on him because of poor records kept at that time. Prior to the 1700's they (emigrants) just landed and not much was recorded on the from where or to.
