John and Cornelius Depuy were early residents of Jefferson County, Ohio. John Depuy layed out the Town of Newburg in 1812. Today that town is Toronto, Jefferson Co., Ohio. Our Historical Society was started in 2008 and we are opening up a museum in Sept 2009. John died between the 1820 and 1830 Censi. We have a burial for Cornelius and his wife Susannah at the Island Creek Pioneer Cemetery, He in 1819 at age 81 years and Susannah on 1 May 1839 at age 83 yrs. A Cornelius appears on the 1830 Census. He may be a son of either John or Cornelius.

Neither family has left any descendants in the area. We are looking for information on the family.
