The earliest noting of Robert DePriest is 1687 registering as a Huguenot arriving in the Americas .. Most Huguenots arrived in the new world with there lives and just there clothes on there backs ..but not true in all cases but if Robert did have money or power why can't we trace his life back to Europe.. My question is how did Robert DePriest acquire a large plantation of about 350 acres in a few short years.knowin, that there must have been several servants to perform the work . was his new status because of money ? if so where did it come from .. If Mr, Depriest's new status was due to A Marriage to whom did he marry.. Reading of early history of this country ,traditions of marriage followed the European ways such as class to class and the aristocrat getting permission from the throne or some other height of power So again to whom could Rober Depriest been eligible to marry and still be allowed to be a member of good standing in the church of Saint Peter in New Kent Virginia Any thoughts along this line ...please...THOMAS........
