This is all preliminary and based only on a quick look at census records, so it may need further verification - but here's what I've pieced together:
Mary's Husband: Dewey English, b. 1868 in Illinois, they were married 3/18/1891 in Marshall Co., Ky. I'm still researching his family. This was my grandmother's grandfather and she remembers him from childhood (she was born in 1930 in Trigg County).
Mary's Father: John J. Dupriest, b. 1831 Henry Co., Tennessee
Father: John B. DuPriest, b. 1802 in Va., d. 6/14/1874
Mother: Matilda W., b. 1804 in Virginia
...they were married in Virginia, oldest child born in Va., the rest born in Tn. - see 1850 census for Henry, TN
Mary's Mother: Lucy Ann Powell, b. 1846 in Ky, d. 4/17/1912, buried in Leeper Cemetery in Smithland, KY
On Lucy's death certificante, father is John Powell, mother is unknown - I haven't looked any further yet.
My grandmother and her sister will be able to fill in a lot of information - I'll post more soon. They would be tickled to hear historic info about their ancestors so please tell me more!
