Well, I had another go at trying to track down my James T. DePriest (DePreste) b.1868 Unknown d.1899 Lawrence Co., MO.
Albert P. DePriest has been a loose end...actually still is, but I did find out more about his first wife.
The transcribed marriage record (haven't seen the actual record) gives her name as Mary Ann Ellen Sage, pretty close but her surname is Saye. She was the daughter of Thomas P. Saye of Polk Co., Missouri. She was born 1851/52 in Polk Co.
Albert P. DePriest and Thomas P. Saye served in the same Union Civil War unit..26th Enrolled Missouri Militia (E.M.M.), but in different companies. They both enrolled at Bolivar, Polk Co., Missouri.
I have been unable to find Albert & Mary DePriest anywhere on the 1870 census. By 1880, he is remarried to Julia A. Stepp and living in Newton Co., Missouri.
Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.
