Hi, I am trying to find any information I can regarding who I am. I know that my grandfather, Johnny ? DePriest, is of Apache Indian heritage. Runningcloud I believe was his original last name. He was adopted by, Im told, a social elite in New Orleans,La. I do not know her name but some of her family is from around the Bucktown/Westend area. My dad, David Depriest Sr.was told of some names, he remembers off hand a Laura or Laurie and a Mitch or M name. I would like to find out the name of the DePriest women who adopted my grandpaw. I beleive she was a single women when he was adopted. My grandfather is about 73-75 years today, so this is around 1927-1930 when he would have been adopted by the DePriest name. I was also told that my grandfathers father, Runningcloud name, may have even been with the DePriest women for a time. please contact me with any information, Myself and siblings would really like to know about the facts to this, and also learn of our Indian Heritage. Thanks ahead for anything you can give me. Dawn
