Robert the drummajor

Dear "cousin," I don't have the exact data at hand, so please know I'm going from memory right now. I think Robert Depriest the drummer boy for Gen. Geo. Washington was the son of Robert (Robin) Depriest, son of the supposed original ancestor in the colony of Va., Robert Depres(s)(e); please know I could be wrong about the direct line; the dummer boy could have been the son of another of the original Robert's children (he had sons and daughters). The drummer boy is mentioned, again, I believe?, in the Rev. Mr. Roller's book, The Richardson-Depriest Family (I first read it at the Newberry in Chicago, so I know it is available by Interlibrary Loan); also, I think Kathy Waggerman calls attention to Robert the dummer boy in her electronic book of Descendants of Robert Depresse(Depriest) on her webpage? I hope some of this helps in some small way. Travis Du Priest
