PALMA FAMILY FROM GA AND ST.AUGUSTINE FL
PALMA FAMILY FROM GA AND ST.AUGUSTINE FL:
Hi. I thought her name may be PALMER as we
were told for a long time, but my ancestress
was possibly from ST.AUGUSTINE FL or
SAVANNAH GA and her name was ANN(ANA)PALMA
or PALMER?? She was born ca 1762 and
married 2X that we know of. 1st to a PHILIP
ALLMAN who lived in SAVANNAH when he died
in 1781 and 2nd to GERALD BYRNE of IRE
also in 1781 and Gerald had apparently been
employed by the Allman's. I think they were
carpenters and possibly merchants. Later
Gerald owned one of the 1st saw mills in AL
and was killed by Indians in 1814. Ann
died abt 1819, also in BALDWIN CO AL where
they finally settled. DOES ANYONE HAVE
INFO ON THE "PALMA" FAMILY is GA & FL
BEFORE THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION?
If ANN followed the traditionalnaming pattern with her children with Gerald who
was IRISH/ENG? --then the 2nd son was named
THOMAS HOLMES BYRNE (as far as we know,he
was the 2nd) and I was wondering if anyone
has HOLMES in their PALMA family from the
southeast. I thought she was possibly from
the PHILA PALMER'S and have not ruled that
out, but did find on LDS that PALMA was indeed in St.Augusine in the 1700's. Just
haven't found "my" ancestress yet. Ann's
1st daughter(my 3rd gr.grandma) was named
MARGARET, so "if" they followed tradition,
then, ANN'S mom was also a MARGARET.
Thanks for any help.
