Jackie, I'm interested in your statement that Samuel DENTON, husband of Elizabeth CHASTAIN, was a senator. I live in Jackson Co., NC, where they lived, (it was Haywood Co. then) and know many of their descendants. I have never seen any reference to his having been a senator. Can you tell me more about that, please?
