John R. DENTON b. @1836 MS states both parents were born in GA. John married #1 Eliza DAVISON 7-13-1853 Lauderdale County, MS and #2 Land Amanda KEITH 2-25-1864 Lauderdale county, MS. Amanda was previously married to H.W. Denton in the same area. A possible brother or cousin to John R.? John and Amanda's children were Fannie C. (m. HEGWOOD), A. Columbus (M.SIMMONS), Monroe Willie (m. BUNCH), Aroiaume (male, spelling illegible), Walter Edward (m. THRASH), Carl Lee. This family mainly stayed in Newton and Lauderdale Counties, MS. The names Monroe and Frances appear a number of times in this Denton family.
