I'm looking for information on Margaret Denton, born 1774 to John & Ann Margaret Weaver Denton. There is a Shenandoah marraige to John Groves 12/2/1788 (brother gave consent, bondsman Geo. Denton). They had a son Jacob Denton Groves, born 1794 (and possibly another son Joseph and daughter Sevilla). However most sites have her married to a Lichliter in 11/16/1796 as a first marriage, and Groves as her 2nd marriage - not possibls as Jacob is older than the Lichliter children. Did John Groves die before 1896? Jacob Denton Groves 1st marriage in 1816 was to Martha Combs who died in 1824. In 1825 he married Margaret Groves, daughter of Benjamin Denton. Martha, Margaret & Jacob are 1st cousins. Any information you have on this would be appeciated.
