Denton Family Elk/Howard Kansas, Blackwell Oklahoma

Hi, we are searching for information and family connected to William H. Denton and his brother George Wallace Denton. I believe they were born in Kentucky as were their parents James and Elizabeth (maiden name Baird) Denton. They had land in Elk/Howard, Kansas and Blackwell, Oklahoma. We have found a couple connections and are interested in finding out who else there may be, if they will have us.

William "Bill" Denton is the biological father of my grandfather and his brother. They were Otho Lyle Amberg and Ted or Teddy Amberg. We understand that this was rumored and there is no doubt as my grandfather as an old man looked EXACTLY like photographs of William in old age.

Otho Lyle and Teddy had the surname Amberg via their (now step) father. Their mother was Alice Lyle who died when they were young, their step mother was Dessie Amberg.

As far as we know land was claimed in the Oklahoma Land Rush where George Denton stayed and his brother William took over running the land in Kansas.

Decedents of William "Bill" Denton's are (besides Otho Lyle and Teddy) his granddaughters (living) Carol Amberg-Hipkins and Diane Amberg-Silverman, great granddaughters Stephanie and Jennifer Hipkins.

I don't know if William would have any other descendents beyond us. Most family that may be out there are likely descendents of his brother George.

We are told some of the family does not get along overly well, possibly over monetary issues. I know there was issue in regard to the money to be inherited after William died, though we (my mother on down) never had any involvement or benefit from, and hold nothing against no one, so we hope family would not be apposed knowing us. We just wish to know who is out there and who this family is and what the history and heritage is.

Thank you so much, I can be contacted via IndigoErth1ATcomcast.net (please replace AT with the at symbol @)
