I have John L. Denton, illegitimate son of Barbara Burkett Denton, b. 1876, married Viney Lou Ward and had four children, L.L., Willard, Mose and Esther. John L. is listed as one of the founders of West Green, Georgia and helped build a "modern" cotton gin and grist mill around 1900. West Green is in either Coffee or Jeff Davis county. He moved to Broxton, Coffee Co. GA with his family in the 1930s.Per his mother-in-law, Mrs. Willard Denton states in the old family bible, John L. Denton's father's name was left out. An old family secret says his father was a wilcox. Viney Lou Ward was John L. first cousin. She was the daughter of Angel Burkett and Joe Ward.
