Joni Fortier NAME: Eva Lucille (Wann) Denton DEATH DATE: November 16, 1963 4:07am Clinton County Hospital DEATH PLACE: Clinton County, Frankfort, Indiana WHERE BURIED: Greenlawn Cemetery SURVIVORS: Parents Daniel Wann and Cecilia Wann Newhart, a daughter Janna Jeanne Denton, a sister Mary Ann Smith of Jefferson and three brothers, Daniel R. Wann of Frankfort, Forest Wann of Terre Haute and Clifford C. Wann of Indianappolis. One brother and one sister preceed her in death. OTHER INFO: Mrs. Denton was employed as a bookkeeper with the American Laundry for nine years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and held membership in the local Women of the Moose organization. Mrs. Eva Wann Denton was born in Parke County, Indiana on July 21, 1925 and graduated from Frankfort High School with the class of 1943. (Ritchie) Wann, three sons; Clifford C. Wann of Indianapolis, Forest G. Wann of Terre Haute and Daniel R. Wann of Frankfort; a step-son Earl Ritchie of Gary; a daughter Mrs. Mary Ann Smith of Jefferson, two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Penticoff of Freeport, Illinois and Mrs. Eva Boggs of Los Angeles, CA; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by a son, Floyd Paul; two daughters, Alberta and Eva L. Denton; five brothers and two infant sisters. OTHER INFO: Daniel Wann was born Sep. 20, 1883, the son of Daniel and Annie (Thompson) Wann. He was a retired Nickel Plate engineer with a 47-year career in railroading, mostly with Nickel Plate. He was a veteran of two wars, the Spanish-American War where he was a bugler and World War I where he served with the 63rd Engineers in France. (Marion) Denton DEATH DATE: January 16, 1996 DEATH PLACE: Fairfield, California WHERE BURIED: Fairmont Memorial Park, Fairfield, CA SURVIVORS: A daughter, Janna Jeanne Craig of Burbank, CA; a grand-daughter Joni (Capuano) Leichtweisz and great-grandson, Jacob Anthony Leichtweisz also of Burbank; and a sister Helen Denton Ayres of Frankfort, Indiana. OTHER INFO: Mr. Denton was born in Frankfort on Oct. 30, 1922 to Earl and Leora Howe Denton. He graduated from Frankfort High School in 1941 and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1973 as a flight engineer and Master Sergeant. He served during World War II, the Berlin Air Lift, the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam War as well as a POW of Germany. Military rites were conducted Jan. 24. NAME: Helen Denton Ayres DEATH DATE: Feb. 18, 2002, 10:48pm at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital DEATH PLACE: Frankfort, Indiana WHERE BURIED: Bunnell Cemetery SURVIVORS: Four sons, James Michael of Indianapolis, Robert William of Joliet, Illinois, John David of Noblesville, and Christopher Allen of Algoma, WIsc.; a daughter, Carolyn Ann Morris of Colfax; and five grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister preceded her in death. OTHER INFO: Mrs. Ayres was born Jan. 9, 1928 in Frankfort to Earl and Leora Howe Denton. She married Robert F. Ayres on March 7, 1947, and he died Dec. 5, 2000. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church, Tri Kappa Sorority and Friends of the Frankfort Public Library. Besides Frankfort, Mrs. Ayres also lived in Huntington, Rensselaer and Indianapolis, Indiana.
