Great website on the Dentons, although I have been unable to connect with several of your interesting links. Do you have knowledge of any Dentons in the Houston County, Texas (not the city of Houston, but Houston County, where Crockett is the county seat) area? I have a C. M. Denton who married a Susannah (or Susan) Clark there in the mid to late 1850s. According to the census, C. M. was born in North Carolina circa 1828. He and Susannah had 2 children by 1860: Lucy Denton & Barton Clark Denton (named for Susannah's dad). Barton Denton married Mattie Lovett in 1885, still in Houston County, Texas. I have never been able to get a grasp on this family although I have had numerous connections within the county. Any possibilities?
