Hello Richard,
My mother is Mary Dent dau of Michael Dent son ofJohn Dent son of Charles Dent about 1823 and they all (thelast four) came from Co. Mayo, Ireland. I had an uncle Richard D., two cousins Richard D. and I was named for my uncle Richard.
Charles Dent had sisters Susanna and Catherine, and brothers Michael and Richard.
My Dents settled in Holyoke, Mass. but family
tradition says some of them immigrated to the South. One, John Dent was transported to new South Wales in 1806 for stealing cattle.
A Catherine Dent married Laurence Barrett (mother's other side). they had a son, Laurence, who was a famous American actor in the 19th C. He is buried in Cohasett, MA.
Richard, Palm Springs
