Dent family in London in the 1600's

I am looking for information on Robert Dent who married Ann and had at least four of his children christened at St. Margaret's in Westminster between 1682 and 1686... this was the church that was used by members of the House of Commons so he must have had a connection to it. One of these children, Sir Digby Gilbert Dent (1682-1737), went on to become Commodore of Jamaica Station.

There is a John Dent M.P. (1761-1826). His Father was the son of the youngest son of Robert Dent (1651 to 1702) of Trainlands. I believe that this John Dent may be the connection between Robert Dent and the House of Commons. Does anyone have any information on this branch of the Dent family?

I have contacted the House of Commons and recieved information on John Dent from them but it doesn't have much if a lineage on it. There is research in progress on more concise data from that era, but according to the House Library it is as yet unavailable.
