Here is what I have:
Chapman Dent b.1842 married Sarah Lee, b. 1855. They had 3 children. Walter,b.1876, Stella,b.1877, Evermont,b. 1878.
Chapman's parents were William John "Jobo" Dent, b.1814 in Bedford Co. Va., and Mary Ferrell,b. 1818, Kanawha Co. (W)VA. Chapman had 2 brothers and 23 sisters.
Garland Dent, b. 1845, John Dent, b. 1840, Kanawha County, married Dorcas Workman, who was also married to Joseph White. Chapman's sisters married brothers. Minerva Dent,b. 1850, Boone Co, WVa married John S. Turner. They had 6 children. Nancy Dent,b. 1847,d. 1896, married Obediah Turner (These were my great grandparents)in 1869 in Kanawha County, WVa. They had 9 children.
I have been told that "Jobo" Dent's Father was also a Chapman Dent and that his mother was a Cherokee Indian named Omaha. I can not find any information to back this up, however. If you would like to swap more information, please e-mail me.
