I have HATCH DENT b ABT 1707 St. Marys Co., MD & Anne Chapman/Poston? B abt 1707 MD. as the parents of Rev. Hatch Dent B May 20, 1751, Charles Co., MD. He married JUDITH POSTON Dec 17, 1778.

According to Christ Church, Rowan County, An Historical Sketch by Rev. Robt. B. Owens, referring to those who came from Maryland,
"One of those who came was Rev. Hatch Dent (Parson Dent), a clergyman of the Church, who settled on Withrows Creek near the small mountain that now bears his name. Unfortunately for the welfare of the Church, he remained only a short time, soon returning to Maryland where he died."
