It's been a long search but cousin Sheila found him!
George A. Dent was born in Otsego Co. NY in 1809, 8th child of Joseph H. Dent and his wife Ann Nancy Tonge. They were living in Maltby le Marsh, Lincolnshire, England where the first 7 children were born; Mary Anne, Joseph, John, Jane, Thomas Hollingsworth, Richard and Elizabeth.
Another daughter, Helen, was born to Joseph and Nancy, in 1813 which is the same year that Nancy died. Joseph remarried and a son, Edward H. was born to him and his 2nd wife, Rebecca Radcliff in Ohio.
George A. Dent married Martha A. Welch (Walsh) who was born in Anne Arundel County, Maryland in 1813. She died in 1872 and George died in Feb.1878. They are both buried at DECATUR, Adams County, Indiana where they lived for many years. See Adams County, Indiana Biography for Bryon H. DENT for more info.
They had 4 children: Byron, Mary L., wife of David Crabbs, living at Moscow, Ohio; Henry Clay, who died in 1879 at Decatur, at the age of 35 yrs. and Helen A. who died in Childhood.
