There is a Dent/Gartman (Girtman, Gertman) connection in my direct line too which produced 3 illegitimate children. Coincidence? I would be happy to compare notes with you to see if any of our information overlaps. My Dent line is proven back to 1790 (Fairfield & Lexington, SC). My direct Dent line settled in Georgia about 1835. Please contact me if you are interested in sharing information.
