This is what I have on URIAH HATCH DENT. He was born at "Dent's Inheritance" in Newport Hundred, Charles County, Maryland in 1787. His brother Theodore, who died in January or early February 1816, bequethed Uriah Dent "all his lands in Georgia." The location of these lands is not known. He was married to SARAH WALKER in 1805 near St. Stephens by a Justice of the Peace named Morgan. Neither had been married before. SARAH WALKER was born in Alabama but the names of her parents are not known. URIAH HATCH DENT has been described as "about 6 feet high, hair light, blue eyes and fair complexion---a farmer by occupation." In a special census taken in the Mississippi Territory in the spring of 1816, U. H. DENT is listed as the head-of-household in Clark County (now Alabama). His wife, two children and three slaves are also listed in this census. He served in the War of 1812. Children of URIAH HATCH AND SARAH WALKER DENT were ELIZABETH DENT, married DAVID L. KENNEDY and FERDINAND HAYES CLAIRBORNE DENT. URIAH HATCH DENT died April 1, 1816 and was buried near Coffeeville, Alabama. SARAH DENT, his wife, married RICHARD WOMACK November 17, 1816. THey had one child named MANSEL WOMACK who became a blacksmith. SARAH died in 1882 at the age of 98 years, and was buried in Cato Cemetery, Rankin County, Mississippi. Do you know anything about the Jefferson County, Mississippi (Lorman)Dent's. I am looking for the father of Warren W. Dent b. 1830 who married Rebecca Hackler.
