Dentsville, SC, now a part of Columbia, was named after the Dent family. This is a Martin Cemetery with Dents buried there. This is on Ft. Jackson's military post in Richland County. My Wages' ancestors are buried here. W. M. MARTIN CEMETERY – located on property of W. M. Martin Rebecca WAGES (in memory of) wife of William WAGES, who departed this life Oct. 25, 1851, supposed to be in her 33rd year of her age. – footmarker R. W. William WAGES (in memory of), who departed this life 8th Nov. 1830, supposed to be 76 years of age – footmarker W. W. Benjamin T. WAGER (sic) (in memory of) born Sept. 7, 1812, died Oct. 2, 1837 ----- 25 years ------- - footmarker B. T. W. Samuel T. DENT (in memory of) who was born Feb. 13, 1845, died Aug. 31, 1848 – footmarker S. T. D. Samuel DENT (in memory of) son of Samuel and Ellis DENT born Apr. 2, 1819, departed this life July 24th 1820 John Samuel PATTERSON (in memory of) born March 8th 1869 and departed this life Oct. 5th 1871, aged 2 years 6 months and 28 days – “Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of heaven” – footmarker J. S. P. Mrs. Henriett (sic) PATTERSON (in memory of) wife of James PATTERSON and daughter of John and Rebecca DENT born Feb. 14, 1840, departed this life Junethe 5th 1873 aged 33 years 3 month and 24 days – “The blessed word bemone (sic) just as the past is gian’d (sic) kept by the power of grace divine.
