Searching for following families in affadavit found at Lincoln archives written in 1821: William Atterby of Louth in the county of Lincoln, Gentleman aged seventy four years maketh oath and saith that in the year one thousand seven hundred and sixty seven he went to live with George Allatt then of Theddlethorpe in the said county, farmer who married Mary the daughter of David Dent of Maltby in the said county grazier as his servant with whom he lived two years. That he knew John Cranford of Maltby in the said county Baptist preacher and Mary his wife five or six years before he came to preside with Mr. Allatt. He this defendant having lived in Maltby at the same time with them and this defendant further saith that after he left the service of Mr. Allatt he went and lived as a servant with Mr. David Dent of Maltby aforesaid grazier who was the son of Joseph Dent of the same place and was well acquainted with his brother Richard Dent heretofore of Maltby aforesaid yeoman and with his sister the said Mary Cranford and he has heard David Dent say that they had a sister Sarah who married one John Barkwith of Islington, a sheep salesman whom he recollects whilst he this defendant lived with Mr. Allatt coming down from London on a visit and heard him in a conversation with Mr. and Mrs. Allatt speak of the death of his wife and this defendant further saith that the said David Dent always called John Cranford brother. That the said John Cranford had two children only by the said Mary, his wife. That is to say John the oldest and Thomas with both of whom he was well acquainted. That the said John Cranford went to London where he died, his brother Thomas being then living and this defendant further saith that he has heard Mrs. Allatt say that he the said John Cranford was never married. And this defendant further saith that the said Mary Cranford has survived her sister Sarah Barkwith about seven or eight years.
