Pardon my jumping into the fray here, too. I connect with your lines at John Dent, who married Mary Hatch.

I am a descendant of their son, George, who married a woman named Mary; their son Thomas married Elizabeth Edwards; they begat George Dent who married Elizabeth Mills; and their daughter, Elizabeth Temperence Dent, married my gg-grandfather, John Amory Burroughs.

I am delighted at the possibility of adding another five generations with what you have here, yet am curious about your documentation of it before I add it to the list. Is there a place where I can find this? Or did you find it from a reliable source?

Someone else online had suggested that John Dent (m. Mary Hatch) was actually the son of John Dent and Mary Shercliffe, so I emailed them to inquire, but did not have a response. Is this possible that there is a second John Dent in the mix right there?

Is John Dent (m. Mary Hatch) the brother of the original Thomas Dent, who came from Guiseborough Manor in Yorkshire, England? I'm told that the original Dent arrived on the "Ark" or the "Dove" in 1654. True?

Thanks,

denbur
