My g-g-g-g-grandfather Richard Dent, was born in Lincolnshire, England ca. 1800. He emigrated with his family as a small boy and settled in New York. In 1842, he moved to Wisconsin. His son, Joseph H. Dent, had preceeded him in moving to Wisconsin in 1839. They lived in the Praireville (now Waukesha) and Menomonee, Milwaukee Co. (now Waukesha Co.) area of Wisconsin. I can't make any connection to the family name Close, but thought this too was a long shot that may have some meaning to you.
