Lu, hope you're still interested in locating this man as I think I might know who he is! I am related to a Richard Dent from Maltby le Marsh, Lincolnshire England born 1800 and lived in Steuben County NY until 1842 when he left for Wisconsin. Email me-hope I can help. Just spent one month visiting his village and gathering wills, etc. Sandy
