Clarissa’s husband was born Oct. 17, 1841 in Denmark, OH. They were both buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Jamestown, NY.
7. Charles Mahlon - b. 14 Oct 1844, Jamestown, NY; d. 19 Mar 1907, Grand Rapids, MI

Charles served in the Civil War beginning Sept. 15, 1864 at Flint, MI. He was a Private in the Michigan Infantry. He joined the regiment in Johnsonville, TN, in November 1864, but was reported AWOL at Columbus, OH, in January 1865. As a penalty, he was sentenced to forfeit two months pay and to make up the time lost by his absence. However, his sentence was disapproved, he was restored to duty, and was honorably discharged June 28, 1865 in Salisbury, NC. The War Department has stated that no charge of desertion stood against him. Later, Charles was a farmer in Remus, MI. In 1906, he was admitted to the Michigan Soldiers Home in Grand Rapids, MI.

m. Charles Dennis Morton, 3 Apr 1873, Lenawee, MI; 2 Daughters
Marietta’s husband was a farmer and was buried in the North Rome, MI, cemetery. After his death, Marietta lived in Adrian, MI.
