Hello all, sorry that I've been away for too long. Greatly appreciate the update from 2006. Have established via US Census records that my paternal line goes from myself(b 1959) to my father Albert(b 1919), my grandfather George Amos(b 1879), my great-grandfather Leandre'(b 1843?) to my g-g-grandfather Peter(b 1810?). It is also my understanding from US Census records that Leandre' had married Mary Pilon(History of St. Mary's Parish, Clayton, NY) or Pelow(US Census). There was also an oral tradition told by my grandfather George's brother Albert, and contained in the old family Bible(where is it!?) that the family name was originally Gareau. I believe that someone had replied that they had info on that if I could prove my connection. I now am in possession of my grandparents George A. & Margaret Byrne marriage registration.
