This is really a shot in the dark...
I have a bank book for my ancestor W. S. (William Steve) Dennis showing $11.00 in his account in a bank in Higginsville in 1933.I know very little about William and his family. The following is from my previous posting in this forum:
I am looking for information on the ancestors of W.S. (or William Steve) Dennis who is my great grandfather. The information I do have follows:
The 1900 U.S. Census shows William Dennis with wife Nannie and children Otto, May, and Callie in Lexington, Lafayette, Missouri. William's occupation is a miner. He rents his home.
William Steve Dennis' death certificate documents:
Birth: 26 June 1864 in Missouri
Parents: Unknown
Death: 17 June 1935 in Silver Spring, Randolph, Missouri
Age at death: 70 years
Occupation: Farmer
Burial: Oakland Cemetery
Informant: Mrs. Katie Todd
The informant, Katie Todd, is William's daughter.
William's wife Nannie (nee Murphy) Dennis was born on 17 May 1863 in Missouri and died 8 September 1949 in Armstrong, Howard, Missouri. Her parents are Moses Murphy and Margaret Sartain.
William and Nannie had a son, James Allen Dennis (b. 30 April 1907 in Missouri, d. 25 February 1982 in Columbia, Richland, South Carolina). James' first marriage was to Alice Frances Sheppard on Thanksgiving Day, 1930 at Fort Snelling Chapel in Minnesota. His second marriage was to Juanita Amick.
James Allen Dennis and Alice's first child is James Allen Dennis, Jr. (b. 27 September 1931 in St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota).
James Allen Dennis, Jr. is my father.
Any help on the family and ancestors of William Dennis will be greatly appreciated.
