Capt, DENNEY/Denny from PA living in c1816
I am searching for a needle in a haystack I'm sure on this one, but has anyone here come across a "Capt." Denney/Denny in their research who was living in 1816 and said to be from PA.
This particular Capt. Denney sailed from some port off the East Coast in 1816/1817 to Belfast, Ireland with one of my ancestors on board...a William MOODY.
The Moody's, McQuiston's, and Denney's were all inter-related via marriage and were all from Northern Ireland prior to coming to America.
William Moody came from NI about 60 years after my ancestors came with the McQuiston's, but they all seemed to have migrated South from New England (except my immediate line and they stayed in New England), to PA and then to NC and TN and elsewhere.
I am wondering if perhaps this Capt. Denney wasn't some relation to William Moody and that is whey he sailed back to Ireland with him. (Wm. Moody returned to PA by the way in or around c1816 or 1817 as well).
He had a half brother Robert Moody.
I am trying to find out more about this family to see if there is a connection to this vague Capt. Denney.
Any help at all greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
