In my records I have Abraham Smith Dennett, born August, 1856 married to Lydia Etta Dennett with two daughters, Eveline, born Feb 7, 1886 and Margaret, born Mar 10, 1887, both born in NYC. Abraham is the son of Samuel H. Dennett, born 1833 in Maine, died 1916 and Margaret H. Smith, born 1836 in Maine, died 1911, both parents interred in the Chadbourne Cemetery, Lyman-Dayton, Maine.
Samuel H. is the son of Ephraim Dennett, born 26 Jun, 1790 in Lyman, ME, died Oct 17, 1854 and Lydia Cleaves, born Oct 30, 1802 in Maine, died Apr 15, 1887, both interred in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco, ME. They were married June, 1824.
Ephraim is the fourth son of Samuel Dennett, born Aug 16, 1766 in Saco, ME, died May 12, 1848 in Lyman, ME and Molly Waterhouse, born Feb 19, 1763 in York Co., ME and died Feb 25, 1849 in Lyman, ME. both were interred in Lyman, ME in the Dennett plot near the Dennett homestead. They were married Oct 15, 1789.
Molly was the daughter of Samuel Waterhouse and Mary Whitten who were married Aug 16, 1760 in Wells, ME. Samuel Waterhouse is the son of William Waterhouse born about 1700, presummably in Portsmouth, NH and Sarah Walker who were married July 4, 1726 in Newington, NH. William Waterhouse is the son of Samuel Waterhouse, born May 9, 1676 in Portsmouth, NH and the grandson of Richard Waterhouse, born about 1648 in Portsmouth, NH, died 1710 and Sarah Fernald, born about 1640, died about 1701. They were married June 29, 1672 in Portsmouth, NH. Sarah was the daughter of Dr. Renald Fernald who arrived in Portsmouth (Strawberry Bank), NH in 1631 as the surgeon of Capt. John Mason's Company. More information can be found in "Old Kittery and Her Families" by Stackpole or any history of the Portsmouth, NH area. Dr. Fernald died in 1656 and interred at the Point of Graves Cemetery in Portsmouth, NH. His wife was Joanna who died in 1660. Some sources say her last name was Warburton.
Samuel Dennett was the son of John Dennett, born May 20, 1738 in Kittery, ME, died Dec 5, 1812 at his son Joseph's house in Lyman, ME and Dorothy Furbish, born Jun 7, 1733, died Dec 4, 1807. They were married June 26, 1754. Dorothy was the daughter of John Furbish, born Apr 19,1699 at Thompson's Point in Eliot, ME and Hannah Litchfield.
John was the son of Ebenezer Dennett, Sr., born about 1692 in Eliot, ME, died abt 1758 in Kittery, ME and Abigail Hill, born Sep 29, 1699 in Portsmouth, NH. They were married June 10, 1714. Abigail was the daughter of Samuel Hill, born about 1659, died Mar 28, 1723 in Portsmouth, NH and Elizabeth Williams, born Oct 25, 1665 in Dover, NH, died 1737. Samuel's father was John Hill.
Ebenezer was the son of Alexander Dennet, Jr., born about 1660 in Hurst Pierpoint, Sussex, Engand, died Jan 7, 1733 in Portsmouth, NH and Mehitable Tetherly, born 1663, died before 1728. They were married 1691 in Portsmouth, NH. Mehitable was the daughter of Gabriel Tetherly, born Jan 4, 1621/22 in Biddeford, Devonshire, England, died Dec 10, 1695 in Kittery, ME. and Susanna, born about 1628, died Dec 10, 1695, the widow of John? King. They were married about 1662 in Kittery, ME. Gabriel Tethely's father was William Tetherly, born in Northam, England, near Biddeford and died Dec 9, 1651.
Alexander, Jr. was the son of Alexander Dennet, Sr. born about 1635 in England, died June 5, 1698 in Newcastle, NH. His grandfather was John Dennet, Senr.
