A few corrections and amendments. When I wrote” The family can not be found in the 1880 census, neither as a whole nor as single persons”, I was referring to the parents and the younger children. I forgot to mention that I already found the children Sophie Margrethe, Edvard Anders, Jens Oluf and Anders Petersen living in Frederiksborg and Copenhagen counties (all married). The descendant I mentioned is after Jens Oluf.
However spending a little more time last night I found Peter Jensen and Ane Andersdatter in Brede, Lyngby Parish. Peter was employed at the cloth factory and the youngest child Julius Martin was living with them. So obviously they moved to Brede between Oct 1875 and Oct 1878, where the confirmation of Julius Martin took place in Lyngby Parish.
Kbhv, Sokkelund, Lyngby, Brede Klædefabrik, Et Hus, D, 781, FT-1880, C1033
Navn: Alder: Civilstand: Stilling i husstanden: Erhverv: Fødested:
Peter Jensen 55 Gift Fabriksarbejder, Husfader Fredensborg
Ane Jensen, født Andersen 59 Gift Husmoder Fredensborg
Julius Jensen 16 Ugift Spinder, Deres Søn Fredensborg
This leaves three children to find; August, Marie Kirstine and Peter. I haven’t used much time on Peter and Marie Kirstine – concentrating on August. I’m now certain that he is not in Denmark by 1880. So he either died before the 1880 census,or he left Denmark. The last possibility still fits with the option that he lived in Norway and/or Sweden for a couple of years before emigrating to the US.
