I am trying to find information about my great grandfather. His name was Peder Sorensen. According to the family history, he was born about 1841 in Øster Ulslev, Storstrom, Denmark. He immigrated in about 1863. In 1870, he married Ane Marie Paulsen in Neenah, Winnebago, Wisconsin. He lived in Luck, Wisconsin but returned to Denmark. He died in 1928 and is buried in Kongsted, Sjælland, Denmark. The following is from my Father’s notebook:
The name from Denmark was not Sorensen but Steenstrup. There is a town in Denmark with that name in Zeeland close to Copenhagen. North side of Ringsted very close to the water that runs between Zeeland and Fyn.
I have not been able to find any information about his childhood in Denmark. I would like to find out the names of his parents and if he was born as stated in the family history.
